In this article, I will attempt to analyze the Nigeria houses listing data posted on Kaggle. There are 24326 rows of data. The dataset contains houses listings and prices based on location and other parameters. You can find a reference to the original data source in the reference section below.
Globalization impact across sub Sahara Africa has contributed to the uprise and interest in Nigeria real estate. Attempt to better understand and answer the following question to provide some insight was a motivation for this project:

- What are the most common style of real estates listed for sale in Nigeria?
- What states or cities have the most listings?
- Where can you find the most affordable and the most expensive houses listed for sale?
Question 1: What are the most common style of real estates listed for sale in Nigeria?
Based on the dataset, there are 7 distinct styles of buildings.
The top three common style of houses for sale are:
Detached duplex (13992 listings), Terraced duplexes (3237 listings), Semi detached duplexes (2615 listings).
The least three style of houses listed are:
Terraced Bungalow (177 listings), Semi detached bungalow (452 listings), Block of flats (1745 listings).
Question 2 — What state or cities have the most listings?
The data shows 18445 out 24326 (75.8%) of listings were in Lagos state followed by Abuja with only about 14%.
Top six cities with the most listings are all in Lagos. Lekki, Ajah, Ikoyi, Ikeja and Ijebu Lekki and Victoria Island.
Question 3 — Where can you find the most affordable and the most expensive houses listed for sale?
The data shows Lagos, Ogun, Abuja and plateau as the states where you can find houses with lower prices.
The data also shows mostly Lagos as the location with the highest price listings.
Further analysis can be made on this data to extract or determine other factors and also perform price predictions.
